Natalie on the run for Indigo Arts in her own Redditch Marathon

Ross Crawford 20th Aug, 2020

MOVE over London and New York – local duo Natalie Gamble and Matt Gough will be running their very own Redditch marathon this Sunday, August 23.

It’s all for a good cause too – Redditch’s amazing Indigo Arts – a choir and performance ensemble dedicated to inspiring the town’s young people and get them singing and performing.

However due to lockdown and the ban on choirs singing the group, which has its own ‘Arts Lab’ in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, has been forced to turn to Zoom to scratch the performance itch.

Marathon woman: Natalie Gamble.

Their virtual performances have seen more than 33,000 but without ticket sales funds need to be raised to keep the Indigo Arts show on the road.

“Lets make sure Indigo can continue with their amazing work by donating as much or as little as you can for thus fabulous cause,” said Natalie.

“Creativity is inherent in all humanity, yet pushed into the background of mainstream education, the opportunity to access and explore creative and artistic potential is always limited, and often denied.

“The result a society frustrated, bent on destruction and lacking in imagination. It is vital that the creative process is encouraged and nurtured, that the journey of the imagination is allowed to continue unhindered, and be recognised and celebrated.”

The duo have been training all through lockdown and hope to raise £500 for Indigo Arts.

Setting off from Greenlands the plan is ran through the town before crossing the finishing line in Arrow Valley Park.

Projects director Cathy Moss said: “Natalie and Matt are hoping people will spur them on to keep them going from their homes, gardens and workplaces on the way, and a socially distanced cheer at the finish would be much appreciated whilst people are enjoying their outdoor strolls or picnic’s around the park on the day!”
