NCS drive galvanises Redditch teens to fund raise for Little Libby's charity

REDDITCH youngsters are rolling up their sleeves to help a charity dedicated to funding neo-natal units across the region.

The teenagers are doing their National Citizens Service in aid of Libby Mae’s Little Angels, set up by Richard and Charlotte Sharratt following the death of their daughter shortly after she was born.

On Tuesday, August 29, they’ll be in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, giving out leaflets on the charity and selling bracelets for the cause.

Then on Wednesday, August 30, they’ll be doing a charity car wash on the car park of the Forest Harvester, Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove.

They’ll finish with a funday at St Stephen’s Church Redditch in Redditch town centre with cakes for sale, games, children’s art and crafts workshops and a raffle. Each fund raising effort will run from 11am to 3pm.

Phoebe West from NCS said: “We chose this charity because unfortunately, due to the NHS cuts, the maternity and paediatric wards at the Alexandra hospital have closed down. “Therefore we feel strongly about helping this charity, especially because a lot of us were premature babies.”
