FOUR Redditch neighbours are still coming back down to earth after scooping a combined £120k in the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The Feckenham Road residents netted £30,000 each when their lucky postcode – B97 5AS – was announced as the winner on Sunday, February 3.
Among the winners was retired 80-year-old Peter Lovett who was shocked when the lottery team came knocking on his door.
“It’s not everyday you get a surprise like this,” he said, “I think it will take a long time for it all to sink in.”
Sports fan Peter is planning to use some of his winnings to visit Bridlington, where he can hit up one of his favourite golf spots.
“I love to go away and play golf with friends. I have already booked a trip but I think I’ll be booking a second one later this year now.
“I’ve got a son and a grandson too so I’m sure they will benefit from the money.”
The remaining three winners weren’t available to collect their cheque in person but their prize will be paid into their bank account.
Presenting Peter with his prize was People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.
He said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled for Peter and I hope the other winners in Redditch all take a leaf out of his book and use the windfall to enhance their life by doing something they love.”
Over the years players have raised a staggering £382m for 5,500 good causes across Great Britain – with a minimum of 32% from every ticket going to charity.
Mental Health Action Group in Redditch is one of the charities who benefited from players support.
In 2018 it was awarded £20,000 to deliver coaching, support and arts activities to people with mental health problems.
