CRIES echoed down the streets of Alcester as the town’s new high bailiff was elected.
Vaughan Blake was officially cried in last Saturday (October 11) by town crier Dave Parkes as part of Alcester’s Court Leet. The ceremony took place outside St Nicholas Church where low bailiff Tim Forman was also elected.
The duo will maintain the leet’s 700 year-old traditions and ceremonies including their famous assizes and raising funds for organisations and charities.
Former high bailiff Steven Brown will now become immediate past bailiff.
