REDDITCH is set to get a new bowling alley this summer.
Tenpin submitted an application to Worcestershire Regulatory Services last month for a bowling alley, along with space for sporting events and live music.
The new attraction, which will take the place of the former B&M and Wilko stores in the Kingfisher Centre, will offer 22 bowling lanes, three escape rooms, 4D laser tag arena, karaoke rooms, AR interactive darts and pool tables.
Fiona Faizey, Kingfisher’s general manager, said: “Tenpin will further enhance our leisure offer at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, boosting the town’s appeal and providing exciting new opportunities for both residents and visitors.”
Sue Clews, regional manager at Tenpin, said: “We are excited to share that we are opening a new site in Redditch.
“This venue promises to provide guests with a range of activities for all ages and occasions and we can’t wait to welcome the first customers through the doors.”
The town has not had a bowling alley for nearly 20 years since Megabowl closed down, and this new venture will be creating 30 jobs.
A bowling alley could potentially be a hit with residents as hopes for one returning to the town were raised when Wilko closed in the Kingfisher Centre and when Wetherspoons shut The Rising Sun.
