New Dementia Cafe already proving a hit at Redditch Library

REDDITCH Library has launched a dementia-friendly cafe called ‘Old Redditch Reminiscers’.

With two meetings already under its belt it gives local people a chance to browse through some of the fascinating library archives and reminisce about what Redditch used to be like.

Meeting on the first Friday of the month from 10am to 12midday, the next get-together is this Friday, September 6.

Zoe Mucklow, Dementia Champion and library volunteer said, “Events like these are so important, not only does it bring our local community together and gets people talking, but it also increases dementia awareness.”

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Worcestershire County Council’s member with Responsibility for Communities said: “This café is a wonderful place to visit, make new friends and share memories.

“I hope it proves to be a valuable addition to the services we offer at Redditch library.
