New grab a jab clinic set up for the benefit of Redditch residents

PEOPLE will be able to get a Covid-19 vaccination next week at another temporary walk-in clinic in Redditch.

Anyone aged 18 or over who needs to have their first or second vaccinations, can ‘Grab a Jab’ at the weekend walk-in clinic on Saturday August 7.

It will be available from 2pm to 8pm at Trafford Car Park, Trescott Road (near Aldi).

There is no need to book, just turn up and have a vaccine.

The clinic is being delivered by St John Ambulance, and will be offering first doses for anyone aged over 18 and second doses for those eligible who had their first dose at least eight weeks prior.

The clinic will be offering the Pfizer vaccine only so can only provide second doses for those who had the Pfizer vaccination initially.

All adults are now eligible to receive the vaccine, and this is a simple, convenient, and easy way to do so.

Those who have not received a first dose of a Covid vaccination are particularly encouraged to attend this walk-in clinic.

Council Leader Matt Dormer, said: “We might be the right side of ‘Freedom Day’ now, but the virus is still out there and the best way to protect yourself and your family is with the vaccine.

“This clinic is much more accessible to more people as it is a prime town centre location and is also running later in the day and on a Saturday for anyone who has been unable to go previously due to work commitments.

“You can just stop by when you’ve done your shopping.”

Dr Kathryn Cobain, director of public health for Worcestershire added: “Across the county our vaccine programme has been really successful, the numbers of people taking up the offer of a vaccine have been positive, and I would like to personally thank everyone who has come forward so far.

“All adults can now have the vaccine and this walk-in clinic will make it much easier for our younger residents to get their first vaccine, as they can just drop in and grab a jab. Vaccination is so important, it not only protects the person receiving the vaccine, but it also helps to stop the spread of the virus, keeping friends and family safe too.”
