Redditch residents can get a taste for rounders next week as a brand new sporting league is launched.
Developed by Redditch Borough Council’s Sports Development team, in conjunction with Leagues4U, the new rounders league will be open to anyone aged 14 and over and will run at the Abbey Stadium on Monday nights from 6.30pm until 8pm.
At the first taster session next Monday evening (June 26) people will have the chance to to give rounders a go, meet new people and take part in some fun exercise.
People interested do not need to register – it’s okay to just turn up and play on the day.
Coun Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “Rounders is a great way to keep fit without even realising because it’s such a fun, team building sport. Come along, have some fun in the sun, make new friends and enjoy yourself.”
Rounders sessions also run on Tuesdays 7-8.30pm at Redditch Rugby Club and Wednesdays 6.30-7.30pm at Stitch Meadow (Arrow Valley Lake).
