STAFF at Redditch Nightstop are spreading the word about a documentary featured on More 4 looking at the work their charity does across the UK.
‘Would you take in a stranger?’ is a one hour documentary featuring young people and hosts in Newcastle, Devon and Brighton, now available on All 4, the Channel 4 on demand service.
Director Ben Freedman’s sensitive documentary follows the emergency accommodation service, which features three young people in very different circumstances, who need a bed in a moment of crisis.
The programme by Drummer TV also looks at the work Nightstop hosts do and the difference they make to young people’s lives.
Redditch Nightstop’s Susan Sadler said: “The use of spare rooms in a welcoming and nurturing home is a lifeline to young people in crisis.
“In Redditch last year we provided a total of 148 emergency bed nights and 493 longer term supported lodging bed nights for young people who were facing homelessness.”
The Nightstop Network is accredited by homelessness charity Depaul UK and provides a safety net to those unable to stay at home.
