THIS week saw 44 bags of school clothing loaded into a container destined for Tanzania.
The items were bagged up at the end of the Redditch Labour Party uniform bank event which was held on July 31st.
Thanks to Sue Yeng who is chair of the One World Link these bags were saved from landfill to support children in Tanzania.
One World Link is partnered with Birchensale Middle School, WBBC Watanzania Birmingham and Black Country Community Association.
It fosters friendship links across the world, with a focus on Redditch’s twin town of Mtwara in Tanzania.
Nelson Nicholas Kampa from the Birminghamand Black Country Tanzanian Diaspora’s committee helped to load the donations into the container.
Redditch Labour said it was incredibly grateful to the numerous groups who supported the community with the uniform bank, and helped make the event as waste free as possible.
