THE jobless rate in Redditch rose by ten to an overall figure of 855 last month compared to November 2016, according to the latest figures from the local Job Centre Plus.
However, at the same time unemployment for 18 to 24-year-olds in the borough fell by 20 to 175 compared to last year.
Compared to five years ago, the unemployment rate in the town is 53 per cent lower today.
Nationally, the unemployment rate was 4.3 per cent, down from 4.8 per cent for a year earlier and the joint lowest since 1975.
There were 32.08 million people in work – 325,000 more than this time last year.
