REDDITCH’S First Community Cookbook – Up to 7 Ingredients Recipes Volume 1 – is published and will be available in libraries, community centres and some schools.

The book will also be gifted to the Mayor of Redditch, Councillor Gareth Prosser.

The book was born comes from the Up to 7 Ingredients Recipe facebook group created by local resident Dr Nayab Patel in March when during the panic buying phase in the pandemic supermarket shelves were nearly bare of essential foodstuffs and items.

“This prompted me to start cooking with was available,” said Nayab.

“And I thought as a community we were all faced with the same challenge so I started Up to 7 Ingredients Recipes group to share and promote fresh, healthy and alternative ways of preparing food using modest recipes.

“The book has a collection of starters, mains, sides, salads and desserts. I would like to thank the co-authors and sponsors for making this happen and Kensi Interiors for letting us use their premises for the photographs.”

However the book, which has been designed by local resident Andrea Berry and printed locally, will not be for sale and but will be available at the outlets above.

For more tasty and healthy recipes all readers are invited to join Up to 7 Ingredients Recipes on Facebook.

“Food brings people, culture and communities together,” said Nayab.
