Offer in place for Dial a Ride and Shopmobility for Redditch residents

RESIDENTS in Redditch are being urged to take advantage of an offer for Dial a Ride and Shopmobility services.

At Monday’s full council meeting last week, members voted in favour of a new offer, where users pay £22 a year for both services. Previously it cost £15 for each service separately.

Portfolio holder for community services, Coun Monica Stringfellow, said: “I am delighted that we are in a position to continue to offer this discount to our users.

“In a cost-of-living crisis every little helps.”

Redditch Borough Council leader, Coun Joe Baker, said: “This is a fantastic offering that we hope lots of residents take advantage of as well as people further afield to help get our town centre bustling again.”

“We’ve already reduced the fares and introduced this offer as a fresh start and we will continue to do this for the next financial year.”

Dial a Ride charges for 25/26 will not be increasing and will cost £2.50 with a concessionary bus pass.
