A FORMER Trinity High School student is over-the-moon after taking home the ‘Graduate Developer of the Year Award’ at a prestigious ceremony in Birmingham.

Leigh Aimee-White, aged 22, was presented with first prize at the Silicon Canal Tech Awards which was held at the Custard Factory on November 28.

The awards are designed to highlight the growing or rising talent of staff at ‘technology companies in the West Midlands’.

Leigh, who works at AI consultancy firm Cogcept, said: “My project manager, Morgan, put me forward after being impressed with my overall performance.

“I’m very grateful to him for doing so – but hopefully it’s not my last trophy!”

Morgan had to fill out a form detailing Leigh’s achievements and why she was worthy of the win.

A panel of judges then went through each nomination before deciding on three finalists.

Leigh, along with the two others, attended a ‘fancy three-course meal’ in Digbeth before the results were announced.

“I didn’t think I was going to be chosen, it was surreal” added Leigh.

“Thanks so much to everyone who believed in me.”
