A REDDITCH couple have been getting on their bikes – yes, in sub zero weather – to raise vital sums for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the NHS.
Kim and Joe Utting from Greenlands had set themselves the target of raising £500 by cycling 100 miles in February.
But they’ve taken to cycling so well they’ve already clocked up 89 miles so will be pedalling further to see just how far they can go.
“Santa was good enough to bring us two mountain bikes for Christmas and we’d put them to good use,” said Joe, a district officer with the Sea Cadets training the adult volunteers.
His wife Kim works in Accident and Emergency at the Children’s. She said: “I see first hand how the wonderful, dedicated staff work so hard to help every child and their families through stressful and difficult times.”
