Pantomime Cinderella breaks all box office records at Palace Theatre

THE pantomime Cinderella broke all attendance and box office records at Redditch’s Palace Theatre over Christmas 2019.

Starring TV talent show winner Ben Haenow, Emmerdale’s Sapphire Elia, The Man They Call G and brilliant Ugly Sisters Oliver Gray and Dean Horner the show proved an absolute smash hit.

Palace Theatre manager Tim Mackrill said he was ‘over the moon’ with not only the success of the show but also the way the audience took to it and support the Palace.

Working hand in hand with panto producers Paul Holman Associates Cinderella smashed the previous record held by last year’s production of Aladdin which achieved attendances of 91 per cent and played to 18,065 people and also starred The Man The Call G.

Over the four week run at the Alcester Street theatre Cinderella achieved 93 per cent seat sales which means it entertained 18,371 people over the festive season. The box office achieved an income of £319,588.00 beating Aladdin by a whopping £21,897.

Tim put the show’s success down to providing a quality production with high production values, great audience appeal and offering value for money ticket prices.

Tickets are already on sale for next year’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk which has already sold more than 3,500 seats.
