OUR LADY of Mount Carmel parish is rejoicing after a successful sponsored walk last weekend.
Parishioners and friends raised more than £900 on Sunday (July 26) for the parish’s new society, Aid to the Church in Need, when they completed a 5K walk around Arrow Valley Lake.
The group, along with some four-legged friends, embarked on the route in the name of persecuted Christians around the world and although it was a wet morning their spirits were not dampened.
One member of the team said the weather actually added a ‘sacrificial element’ which they could offer up to their suffering brothers and sisters.
