THIS Friday, July 19, the Alcester Royal British Legion will be marking the 100th Anniversary of Peace Day by holding a small ceremony on The Centenary Fields in Alcester.

The branch chairman Mike Gittus BEM will say a few words about Peace Day and the Centenary Fields before unveiling the permanent fixing of the ‘Tommy Alcester’ figure.

This will join the Remembrance Benches and Beacon that are already on the fields.

The ceremony will start at 11am and all are invited to attend.

Centenary Fields are situated between Gas House Lane and the Stratford Road in Alcester.
