Persimmon Homes team hosts successful collection for Friends of Isaac’s Foodbank

A REDDITCH foodbank has received a boost, thanks to a collection drive held by the team at Persimmon Homes South Midlands.

Members of the Studley-based team volunteered their time to collecting a range of foods to be donated to foodbank, which helps to end food poverty in and around the Worcestershire town.

Friends of Isaac’s Foodbank CIC was founded in November 2020 by Isaac Winfield.

The foodbank started as a small greenhouse, with goods for the wider community to use during the pandemic.

With the love and support of the community, the foodbank has since grown to two large sheds in the same location, as well as a further three sheds dotted around the town.

Russell Griffin, managing director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “What we do is about so much more than building quality homes; it’s also about supporting the communities in which we build in a number of ways.

“At Persimmon, we encourage our team to volunteer their time to causes close to their hearts and it’s great to know that our work has had a positive impact on Friends of Isaac’s Foodbank CIC.”

Claire Chapman, who runs the foobank on Isaac’s behalf said: “Isaac would like to say a massive thank you to Redditch Persimmon Homes for the incredible donation of food.

“Isaac thinks this is probably the biggest food donation in the history of his food bank.”
