The theme ‘The Wonderful World of Books’ brought favourite stories together and characters to life as the village transformed into a colourful celebration of imagination and creativity.

Festivities began on Friday with the ever-popular Summer Sundowner, setting the tone for a spectacular carnival weekend filled with live entertainment, great company and summer celebrations.

Carnival Day on Saturday saw thousands of people line the streets from 12pm as the famous procession made its way through the village.

A fun dog show attracted a large number of entries from four-legged friends and 70 vintage vehicles, including seven steam engines, which were shown off in a classic car display.

There was all the fun of the fair with thrilling rides for the adventurous, animal attractions and traditional Punch and Judy entertainment from Prof Collywobbles.

This year, Attwell Farm Park was welcomed to the showground and brought a range of animals for everyone to enjoy, giving visitors the chance to get up close and learn more about life on the farm.
