PICTURE SPECIAL - Glastonbeoley charity festival wows the crowds with music galore

GLASTONBEOLEY charity music festival proved to be a roaring success, as crowds flocked to Redditch Cricket, Hockey, Rugby and Squash Club over the weekend.

All profits from the community festival go directly to charities and groups which have had a positive impact on people’s lives in the local community.

There was more than 40 live music acts over three stages, along with signed BSL performances for all to enjoy.

There was also children’s rides, street food, beer tents, and a Prosecco and gin trailer.

Organiser Debbie Joynes said: “So many families turned up to enjoy and celebrate a wide variety of music, everything from rock to reggae, and folk to funk to punk was catered for.

“The level of talent from our musicians was absolutely off the scale –  both local people and slightly further afield, and was thoroughly enjoyed by a diverse crowd of music lovers.”

Since 2018, GlastonBeoley has raised more than £5,000 for charities such as Deaflblind UK, Redditch NightStop and The Mental Health Foundation.

The organisers are hoping to raise as much as possible this year, with the total raised yet to be announced.
