REDDITCH youngsters have been learning about nutrition and getting to know where their food comes from – starting with school milk.
A class from Skilts School paid a visit to Pardy’s Dairy last week (February 9) to find out how their milk arrives at their school on Gorcott Hill each day and to try their hand at helping some of the staff there.
Dairy owner Ian Pardy showed the youngsters from the Residential Special School round the depot on Arthur Street and put their maths skills to the test with a task of picking the orders for that nights deliveries.
Assistant head at Skilts, Clare Redman was pleased with the results: “This has been a fantastic and fun opportunity for the boys to understand the process of getting milk from the dairy to their classroom. It’s also been great for them to experience the level of maths that is involved in a workplace such as this.”
