Plan for flats and houses on Studley's Redditch Road are backed

Redditch Editorial 19th Feb, 2018   0

PLANS to demolish the existing industrial and commercial buildings and two flats to build four houses and three flats on the Planscape (Leisure) Ltd site on Redditch Road in Studley have taken a step nearer reality.

The parish council raised no objections to the scheme when they met last week provided boundaries were observed, the builders kept to working hours and entry and exit to the site was controlled.

The plan envisages a parking area, gardens, the erection of a new boundary and the installation of a biomass district heating system.

A planning application for the site was first lodged in 2001 and since then permission has been refused on several occasions.

However it was finally granted in 2015 with conditions and will now go forward to Stratford District’s planning committee for full approval.

A PLAN to demolish ten garages and build three 3-bedroom houses in Allendale Court in Studley met with a wave of disapproval from parish councillors last week.

Members were concerned the scheme would bring over-development to the site and cause major problems over parking, not only for existing residents in the area but the owners of the new houses too.

They also felt one of the proposed houses would look directly into the living room of a bungalow in nearby Lords Lane.

Councillors voted unanimously to object to the plan which will now go forward to be considered by Stratford District planners.
