The man, in his 70s, was found shortly after 4pm yesterday (Tuesday) on Captains Hill, opposite the entrance to the bus turning circle.

The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene but police are still unsure of the exact circumstances of his death.

PC Pete Hayes said: “We’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please come forward. At this stage, it’s not believed any other vehicles were involved.”
