POLICE are investigating an attempted bank robbery at Lloyds Bank in Alcester.
The incident happened at about 12.45pm on Wednesday, November 30 at the branch on Stratford Road.
The would-be thieves drove an unknown car into the rear car park of the bank using the access from Bleachfield Street.
They then attempted to get into the bank by smashing a rear window and then also by trying – unsuccessfully – to remove the security bars.
They then drove off.
The bank was open at the time and members of staff and the public were inside.
Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the car and its occupants arrive or leave the scene.
They are described as two males wearing black balaclavas.
A Lloyds Bank spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident which occurred at our Alcester branch in South Warwickshire on November 30 and are assisting police with their investigations.”
