Police carry out drug search at Redditch flats after reports of 'strong cannabis smell'

Redditch Editorial 20th Mar, 2017   0

REDDITCH police have been targeting flats in Lock Close, Batchley today (Monday, March 20), acting upon information they received about a strong smell of cannabis in the area.

Around 13 police and community support officers attended today alongside police sniffer dogs and handlers at around noon in a bid to tackle the issue.

Councillor Pattie Hill (Batchley, Lab) worked with and accompanied the team of police as they carried out the drugs search.

A police spokesperson said: “It is important that we act upon information from concerned residents and work together with local Councillors to keep Redditch safe.

“This is an example of how the police and communities can work together to take drugs off the streets and keep the community safe from harm.”

Anyone with information on drugs is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
