POLICE have issued a car crime alert after a number of thefts from cars and of cars across Redditch.
A car parked outside a house in Melen Street in Enfield was stolen without the keys over Sunday night, March 17.
It happened after a car in Astley Close, Woodrow was stolen sometime between last Wednesday and Sunday, March 13-16, again without the keys.
Meanwhile in Shireland Lane, Batchley a wallet containing cash and bank cards was stolen from a car parked on the driveway of a house over Sunday night.
Over Saturday night two pairs of glasses were stolen from a car parked on the driveway of a house in Plymouth Road, while in Lodge Road, Smallwood a black Pakka folding bicycle and an MP3 player were stolen from a car between March 7-10.
Police say most vehicle crime is opportunistic and happens because a vehicle is left unsecured with doors or windows left unlocked, keys left in the ignition, personal belongings on display, tools and equipment left in work vans, sat nav and holder left in vehicle, or they’re parked in a poorly lit areas.
