Police praise after eagle-eyed Studley resident helps nab three

POLICE have praised the prompt action of a Studley resident which led to the arrest of three men on suspicion of going equipped to steal and being in possession of an offensive weapon.

The caller had reported the men, in a Volkswagen Passat, acting suspiciously by a house in the Crooks Lane / Toms Town Lane are of the village at around 3am on Friday, January 13.

The police safer neighbourhood team arrived promptly and were able to make the arrests.

A spokesperson said: “This was a good call by an observant member of the public, who was able to give good prompt information over the phone resulting in the three arrests, preventing a crime from occurring. Further enquiries are being made.”




The day before, Thursday, January 12, at around 6.45pm, and again in Crooks Lane, another resident had reported the occupants of a white VW Passat acting suspiciously.

Both incidents have crime numbers, 0025 13/01/2017 and 0320 12/01/2017 and anyone with further information is urged to call police on 101.
