THIS electric motorbike was seized in by Redditch Police while they were on patrol in Woodrow.

Officers stopped a 15-year-old boy who was riding it along Studley Road around 30mph.

He was not wearing a helmet, had no insurance and did not hold a driving licence, due to his age.

As a result, the bike — which is not road legal — was seized and will be destroyed.

Following the incident, police have issued a reminder to people that all electric motorbikes must be road legal, insured, and ridden only by individuals with a valid driving licence.

“This is not just about the law — it’s about keeping everyone safe.

“E-scooters fall under the same rules. Privately owned e-scooters are currently illegal to use on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes.”

And they urged people thinking of buying an e-scooter or electric bike this Christmas to think twice.

“These vehicles may seem like fun gifts, but if used illegally – they can pose serious risks and lead to police action.

“Let’s keep our roads safe.”
