Pollution action calls in Studley

Redditch Editorial 12th Nov, 2017   0

CONCERNS over air quality and pollution in Studley could see the parish council write to Stratford District Council asking what they are going to do about it.

High levels of pollutants at the Barley Mow island have been recorded by the district, breaking national guidelines.

Members of the parish’s environment committee heard this was the third time in five years that the busy junction of the High Street and A435 had shown readings above the required standard.

Councillor Jim Bacon, chair of the parish’s environment committee said: “I think we should write a fairly strong letter asking Stratford what action they will take to bring this within the legal standard in light of their inaction over the last ten years.”

His proposal, seconded by Coun Brian Dixon, will now go forward to a full council meeting for discussion.
