VOLUNTEERS got hooked on a community project to spruce up Ipsley Pool.
Staff from Alcoa used their spare time to help members of Redditch Junior Anglers clear away overgrown plants from the area.
The group, which teaches children about different fishing techniques and water safety, recently started to rent the pool as a base for sessions.
The clean-up project is expected to take around a year to complete, including fully stocking the pool with fish.
Andrew Pendleton, who helps run the club, said the area will benefit the whole community and it was great to have a space dedicated to youngsters.
