A NEW pop-up gallery will open in the Kingfisher Centre for ten days from May 18.
And the venture, being put together by Arts in Redditch, will occupy a bigger and better premises than its previous events.
A total of 50 local artists will be exhibiting more than 600 individual works of original art, including paintings, ceramics, textile work, photography and other media.
All the work is for sale and can be taken away on the day of purchase. There will also be smaller items available, such as cards and prints, all based on artists’ original work.
The exhibition, organised and curated by the artists themselves, will be in Unit 10, Walford Walk, opposite Next.
Ahead of the main exhibition, there will be a window display from Sunday, May 7, offering a ‘taster’ of what is to come.
Philip Roberts, one of the Arts in Redditch trustees, said: “As well as many of our regular exhibitors, of which we have over 100, we are delighted to be welcoming more new participants, who are looking forward to exhibiting with us for the first time.
“This will be another great opportunity for visitors to view the sheer breadth of local creative talent at work in Redditch, and the sales of these works help to fund our charitable aims.
“Once again, we are indebted to the management team and staff of the Kingfisher Centre, without whom these events would not be possible.”
Arts in Redditch is a registered charity and a member of the Reimagine Redditch consortium which oversees the town’s ‘Creative People and Places’ programme and is funded by Arts Council England.
