Popular Redditch chippies nominated best in the Midlands once again

Redditch Editorial 10th Aug, 2019   0

TASTY fish and chip shops Winyates Chippy and The Golden Carp have been shortlisted among the best seven chippies in the Midlands once again.

The popular Redditch chippies will now battle it out with 58 other fish and chip shops across the UK as part of the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards, now in its 32nd year.

Organised by public body Seafish, the awards recognise businesses which provide ‘outstanding customer service’.

Theo Elinas, who owns both Winyates Chippy and The Golden Carp, said: “To be nominated again is absolutely wonderful. It’s a fantastic achievement.

“But as I always say – it’s teamwork that makes the dream work.

“We wouldn’t be where we are now if it wasn’t for our incredible staff and of course our loyal customers too.

“I want to say a big thank you to my son George who runs The Golden Carp with me and James Thomas who is the manager at Winyates Chippy.”
