A POPULAR postman made his final delivery around Studley on New Year’s Eve after more than 40 years doing rounds.
John Keogh, who lives in Lodge Park, was given £400 by residents in Mappleborough Green, after they had rallied together to organise a farewell gift.
Organiser of the collection, Sue Crampton, said: “He’s saving up to buy an electric bike so we thought we would try and help.
“He delivered in our area for more than 25 years and would always go above and beyond.
“He was always fantastic, helpful and everyone I know only has good things to say about him.”
Proud wife Gillian Keogh added: “John started working at Royal Mail Redditch as a stop gap after he was made redundant, but he ended up working there for 42 years.”
