THE Golden Carp chippy in Redditch will be giving out free fish and chips to its first 20 customers tomorrow (January 17).
The generous takeaway is taking part in the national fish and chips giveaway to mark one week until The National Fish & Chip Awards 2020.
Staff at the Golden Carp hope they will scoop the UK Fish and Chip Shop of the Year award at the posh London ceremony on January 23.
They will be up against nine other chippys in that category.
Marcus Coleman, chief executive of Seafish which runs the awards, said: “Being shortlisted as a finalist for the flagship award is a phenomenal achievement.
“Everyone in the final truly deserves their spot and we wish them all the best of luck next week.”
