ST STEPHEN’S Church in Redditch has been decorated with 12 special prayer stations as the church builds towards Pentecost, this Sunday, May 23.
Each station has its own individual setting and each offers visitors the opportunity to stop, reflect and pray for a loved one and to remember them.
Pentecost is is held seven weeks after Easter Sunday and is significant for Christians as after Christ’s ascension, he vowed to send a ‘comforter’ – the Holy Spirit – to empower followers to spread the word of God. Pentecost is the day he chose.
