THE PRIDE flag has been raised above the Town Hall ahead of Reddich’s first ever Pride parade tomorrow (Saturday, June 3).

A parade by members of the LGBTQ + community will start from the Town Hall at 11am, walking through the Kingfisher Centre then onto Church Green and events will run from midday to 6pm.

A stage will provide the place for live acts performing music, comedy and speeches and there will be community and business stalls in and around Church Green for visitors to shop and find information.

Entertainment includes Red Vengeance, Jack Read and the Shaders, Bhangra Smash Up, Philli Mi Up and PRIDE’S Drag Showcase, a rock choir and readings from Amy Carter.

Stalls serving hot and cold food will lead down to The Canopies and local businesses having Pride-themed events and products in their shops.

The event’s chairperson Joe Baker said it provided a great opportunity for Redditch – both for bringing people together and for the town’s economy.

“Its a family friendly day so I would encourage everyone to take part in the Parade and also to listen to the live music and acts.”

LGBTQ Support Services Redditch originally organised the event in 2020, but the pandemic put a hold on celebrations.
