SINGER, radio and TV presenter, Aled Jones MBE, joined a primary school choir for a festive event to bring together all ages of the community and launch Great Alne Park’s 12 Days of Christmas tree installation and mini festive trail.
On Sunday 4th December, Aled Jones attended the festive event at the retirement village owned by later living operators, Inspired Villages, just outside Alcester.
He was joined by children from Great Alne Primary School who performed a series of Christmas carols.
Aled also performed his famous rendition of ‘Walking in the Air’ from classic Christmas film, The Snowman, before joining in with everyone to sing ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’.
Children were also able to pay a visit to Santa’s Grotto and get a sneak peek of Great Alne Park’s 12 Days of Christmas tree installation and mini festive trail, which is open to the public throughout December.
The event was designed to bring together people of all ages from the community and highlight the importance of intergenerational friendships.

“It was fantastic to see Great Alne Park full of people of all ages enjoying themselves. We’re so thankful to Great Alne Primary who are just down the road for their wonderful Christmas carol performances. Seeing the children and residents singing along with Aled got us all in the Christmas spirit and was incredibly special.
“We really understand the importance of bringing together the young and old to showcase how interesting and fun intergenerational friendships can be. Our residents have lived incredible lives and have plenty of amazing stories to share, retirement can and should be the best years of your life and our residents are proof of that testament.
