Primrose Hospice lights of love campaign raises £26,000

THE PRIMROSE Hospice Lights of Love campaign, which took place over the festive season, raised £26,000.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the drive and featured a brand new event – The Lights of Love Night of Remembrance.

During the successful event, the community came together to remember their loved ones and enjoy beautiful performances from The Primrose Choir, local musicians and schools.

This year’s dedications were presented in a beautiful new display around the Christmas trees outside ASDA in Bromsgrove and at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch.

The annual campaign is a special way for the community, local or further afield, to remember lost loved ones at Christmas.

Kelly Weatherall, Primrose Hospice fund-raiser, said: “Dedications made in memory of our community’s loved ones are as significant to Primrose Hospice as to those who have made them.

“By improving the presentation of the dedications, and the introduction of our new memorial event at the hospice, we hope we have honoured the tributes in a more meaningful way.”

She thanked everyone who supported the 2022 appeal by donating to the cause and attending events.

A video of the Night of Remembrance has been placed on YouTube – visit this story on our website to watch it.

The Primrose Hospice holds lots of fund-raising events throughout the year which people can get involved in and there are plenty of volunteering opportunities.
