Primrose Hospice shop in Headless Cross to re-open

Harry Leach 17th Jun, 2020

THE Primrose Hospice shop in Headless Cross is to re-open on Saturday, July 4.

And to get everything off on the right foot there will be a donation evening at the store on Friday, July 3 between 5pm and 8pm to help relieve people of all the items they’ve bagged up for charity shops during lockdown.

Staff have been busy making sure measures are in place to keep customers and volunteers safe as it prepares to welcome back shoppers.

Doors will be opened at the Headless Cross branch at 10am with plans to trade on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There will be changes in the way we operate with customers asked to stick to social distancing as well as other Government rules.

To make sure the shop is safe for everyone to use, the store has implemented the following:

PPE to include counter ‘sneeze guards’, face guards, masks and gloves.

Signage around the store to highlight social distancing.

A maximum of six customers allowed in the shop at any one time.

Hand sanitiser station for customers to use on entering the shop.

Anti-bacterial wipes and sprays to clean high traffic areas.

Anti-bacterial hand wash and a supply of paper towel and dispensers for staff and volunteer use.

Primrose Hospice’s other charity shops in Redditch, Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Rubery will remain temporarily closed.

The Headless Cross shop will also only be able to accept donations on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Donations should be of good quality and only bagged clothing, shoes and handbags as well as boxed bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, CDs and console games can be accepted.

No furniture at present and the shop will be unable to return bags or boxes to customers.
