Prolific Redditch shoplifter banned from Kingfisher Centre for two years

Redditch Editorial 15th Mar, 2024   0

A PROLIFIC Redditch shoplifter has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), banning him from the town’s Kingfisher Shopping Centre for two years.

Jamie Flynn, 39, of Edgeworth Close, is also excluded from a number of shops in the town after the order was granted at Worcester Magistrates’ Court.

Under the CBO, Flynn must not enter the Kingfisher Shopping Centre or any retail premises from which he is banned or excluded. He must also not refuse to leave any premises, location or area when asked by someone with the required authority to do so.

Failure to comply with the order, requested by officers in Redditch Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, will see him face further punishments, including fines and/or a possible prison sentence.

PC Greg Melville, from Redditch SNT, said: “We are pleased this two-year CBO has been granted because of Flynn’s prolific shoplifting which we hope will protect retailers and the public from his criminal actions.

“Placing such restrictions on an individual like this will hopefully reassure retailers and the community that we take such offences very seriously and will take the necessary action where appropriate.”

Anyone who sees Flynn entering the shopping centre or committing an offence should report it by calling officers on 101.
