STAFF and pupils at St Bede’s Catholic Middle School have been toasting sporting success after an excellent showing in county and district tournaments.
Just this week St Bede’s took its three, district winning, indoor athletics teams to compete in the County Finals at Bromsgrove School.
Competition was fierce but it saw the school’s Year 8 girls and Year 7 boys both crowned County Champions, receiving County medals for their efforts.
The Year 8 boys weren’t far behind either, finishing in third place.
Last Friday, April 1, swimmers from KS2 took part in the District swimming competition at the Abbey Stadium.
It was a close encounter as all the schools involved had some great swimmers.
At the halfway point St Bede’s were trailing by two points but managed to pull through and win to take the title by a single point.
On Wednesday, March 30, St Bede’s Year 5 Netball squad attend their first ever District Competition, finishing joint third on goal difference.
On Tuesday, March 29 The Year 8 girls basketball team took on Birchensale, in what should have been the District Tournament.
However as only Birchensale and St Bede’s attended four 10 minute quarters were played instead.
For both teams, it was their first competitive fixture, however, this was not evident in the performances with Bede’s eventually coming out on top 28-24.
