REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley spent a day at Birchensale Middle School last week, visiting students who were lucky enough to visit WWI battlefields.
Megan Garrett and Jodie Lewis travelled to France and Belgium in September as part of the First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours programme.
The girls gave a presentation to their fellow students and Mrs Lumley on Friday (November 27) to follow up on their trip.
“It was fascinating to hear of Megan and Jodie’s experience,” Mrs Lumley said. “I believe it is so important that our children are made aware of what the world went through during both World Wars, and why, so that we never forget.”
During her visit, the town’s MP also held a question and anwer session with the school’s year eight pupils.
