Rachel Maclean: "We now know the path to beating this virus"

Redditch Editorial 10th Jan, 2021   0

BEING asked to stay at home again is tough, but I know the vast majority of my constituents believe it is the right thing to do as we continue our fight against this virus.

Like many of you who are able to work from home, my team and I are doing the same. We’re here for you throughout this lockdown, just as we have always been.

I’m still able to help via email and over the phone, and I will continue to hold virtual surgeries. To book an appointment please email rachel.maclean.mp@parliament or call 01527 591334.

Whilst many of us can work from home, I know there are plenty more who will be continuing to leave home for work. Construction workers, supermarket staff, refuse collectors and of course our fantastic NHS workers.

Thank you again for all that you have done and for all that you continue to do during this pandemic.

Of course, we mustn’t forget the scientists. The vaccines they have developed at incredible speed are our way out of this pandemic.

We were the first country in the world to approve and roll out the Pfizer vaccine, and we were the first to approve and roll out the Oxford vaccine.

Our NHS has a clear delivery plan and is committed to offering a vaccination to everyone in the top four priority groups by February 15.

Although there will be many long weeks ahead, thanks to the extraordinary work of our scientists, our NHS and the resolve of everyone in Redditch, we now know the path to beating this virus.
