Reach CIC changes the way it operates to prepare for the 'new normal'

REACH CIC has changed the way it operates in order to prepare for the ‘new normal’.

The charity has continued to operate throughout lockdown alongside Church Hill Big Local Partnership (CHBLP).

Volunteers have staffed the telephones and dealt with complex cases alongside the County Council, Redditch Borough Council and other agencies.

But a new network – Redditch East Strong Together (REST) – made up of Reach CIC, CHBLP and Inspire CIC has been established to offer support services with a focus on the East of the borough.

Director of Reach CIC, Liz Williams, said: “This will ensure that people who need our help are not suddenly left without support.”

The contact number will remain the same (01527 919869) and prescription collection services and access to emergency food via Redditch Food Bank has been maintained.

Reach CIC, CHBLP and Inspire CIC are also offering a range of online service while The Space, Inspire and Willow Trees remain closed to the public.

Online training, counselling support and cookery sessions can all be accessed at the click of a mouse.

Information about the online services can be found by heading to Reach CIC’s Facebook page.

Wendy Johnson, chair of CHBLP, said: “We are delighted to be able to continue to deliver support to those in Church Hill during these difficult times.

“It has been fantastic to see the amount of people who have helped over the last few months.

“We will be looking at ways to offer more volunteer opportunities in the near future.”
