REDDITCH-based Reach CIC is celebrating after a long overdue refurb.
Rachel Ind, director at Reach, applied to fellow community interest company Volunteer It Yourself (VIY) to help fund the refit.
VIY works with young people to learn trades and employability skills through helping to fix local youth and community facilities.
Young people from across the borough helped renovate the centre, gaining new skills and hands-on experience.
Reach CIC is the only community venue in Winyates and provides financial and benefits advice.
It also helps those in need and offers a safe place to meet or seek support.
The refit will help Reach provide the services the centre desperately needs.
Rachel Ind, director at Reach, said: “The community building is the heart of the centre.
“We can meet the needs of more people and welcome more people through our door.”
Reach now has a kitchen, the main area is bigger and brighter and more welcoming.
Rachel added: “We’ve got a lot more room now, which helps with things like packing our Christmas hampers.
“And everyone who helped with the work was so kind and lovely.
“We’re looking forward to going forward and helping those in need.”
