Ready to make a clean start in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 3rd Mar, 2017   0

A NEW anti-litter campaign to keep Redditch tidy has begun ahead of the ‘Great British Spring Clean’.

The Smallwood area of Redditch is being targeted for cleaning by residents, Councillors, public workers and people on the community payback scheme.

A deep clean from a road sweeper will join other cleansing methods such as trimming back foliage, cleaning signs, and tidying up other parts of the area following the Great British Spring Clean weekend of March 3 -5.

Redditch Borough Council are also inviting nominations for new locations to focus on after Smallwood.

Coun Debbie Taylor, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “The Great British Spring Clean may just be one weekend a year but we’re cleaning in our communities every day. If you’d like to bring a big clean up to a place near you, let us know and we will support you all year round.’’
