THE ROMANS invaded Beoley First School as part of an event to raise funds for a school trip.
Year 4 children have been working on a topic covering the Romans and wanted to visited the famous baths to learn more about its history.
But the cost of the visit was more expensive than usual school trips, so the children worked with school governors to come up with ways to raise money to pay for it.
They held a Roman forum where hand-made jewellery, cakes, mosaic coasters and picture frames were all sold to parents and carers, while the pupils also wore special costumes and held a raffle.
More than £500 was raised on the day, which was more than enough money to cover the cost of the trip on Tuesday (November 25).
A spokeswoman for the school said the project showcased how inventive the children were and thanked parents for their generosity and support.
