IT MAY be stormy outside and cold but the windows are opening all over Henley in Arden as part of the town’s life-sized advent calendar.
The aim is to truly foster the Christmas spirit and houses up and down the Henley High Street have responded to such a degree that organisers have been over-subscribed.
Not only that but side streets and other roads have also got in on the act by launching their own real-life advent calendars.
Last Wednesday, December 1, joint organiser Annie Davies joined Henley Court Leet to officially open the first suitably decorated window, at 225 High Street.
“It’s so exciting to see the community come together like this,” said Annie.
“The Court Leet not only came along to open the first window but are now also awarding prizes for the top three windows and presenting a certificate to every participant!”
