‘I DID the best I could’ – that was the verdict of Labour candidate Rebecca Jenkins, not conceding defeat just yet, before the result, but resigned to bad news.
“We fought an honest campaign and did not resort to any dirty tactics and we put up policies which were fully costed.
“And I’ll be back, I’m not going anywhere.”
She added: “We didn’t have the resources of the Tories but we fought an honest campaign that put the people first.
“I have given everything to this campaign as a full time teacher, I’ve suffered as car crash, dealing with the fall out after my cousin committed suicide yet I have carried on, fighting for the people of Redditch.”
